BVVSSR Vastrad Rural Polytechnic, Bagalkot

BVVSSR Vastrad Rural Polytechnic, Bagalkot was started in the year 1983 offering diploma courses in Electronics &  Communication Engg., Textile Technology. Later on, it started Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Civil Engineering.  At present, it offers the diploma courses in five disciplines. The College is a Government Aided Institution affiliated to Board of Technical Examination, Bengaluru (Govt. of Karnataka) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi.

The Polytechnic runs vocational courses under Community Development Through Polytechnic (CDTP) scheme, sponsored by MHRD (Govt. of India). This college is situated on the outskirts of Guledgudd Town, on Badami Road and is adjacent to Guledgudd Railway Station. It is located in a well spread out campus of 12 acres with lush green surroundings. The focus of the college in addition to imparting technical education to students in his/her trade is the following:

To make available technical manpower to the industry as per their requirements. Students are also trained in self-employment & entrepreneurship.

Special emphasis is laid on overall personality development of the students by encouraging them to participate in extracurricular activities & other competitions.
