GM institute of Technology, Davanagere a hi-tech engineering college was established in the academic year 2001-02 by Srishyla Educational Trust, Bheemasamudra with the vision to provide quality technical education by Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa, the Founder President of the Trust and the then Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Davangere.
An ISO 9001-2008 Certified institution for providing Teaching Technical Education leading to Degree Certificate in Engineering  & Diploma branches.

Library

GMIT library is a resource center for teaching, learning and research. Being the heart of the academic center, it is home for all the information services. The institute has an up-to-date library which is completely automated using KOHA library software. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is connected to lan which enables users to access databases of library resources. Which are helping for searching the books from any corner of the library. At present it has a collection of more than 29029 volumes, titles 7635 & 77 national/ int. journal/magazine. Different sections are well established in an area of 691.1sq.mtrs. All the books are bar-coded and transactions of books are done through borrower cards. The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for researchers, the faculty and the student community.

The library also has an intensive Digital library consisting of 1800 CDs/DVDs and other learning resources in electronic form like e-journals, audio/videos, e-books. There are separate sections for Management and Engineering. It has other facilities such as SC/ST Book Bank facility, Audio Visual Room, Multimedia, Reprographic and Printing facilities etc. Library working hours is 9.AM to 8.PM and extended till up to 11 PM during the examination.

Digital Library
D Space is used as the institutional digital repository. It consists of a good collection of video lecturing, back volumes of e-journals, conference proceedings, seminar/project reports, previous years university question papers, e-books and other reference material.

Transportation
To pick and drop students from their local residences, GMIT has facilitated high tech transportation facility with well-experienced drivers to ensure secure transportation.

Hostels
Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls with the best of living accommodation including NRI wing in modern and beautiful buildings with excellent facilities.

Sports & Culture
GMIT campus provides the adequate facilities for the empowerment of sports activities of students to ensure the physical development. Sports are one arena which moral and personal development occurs by both imitation and initiation. The campus has an indoor stadium providing the fine infrastructure. GMIT has multi-furniture GYMNASIUM with modern equipments. Students attend GYM to keep healthy. There are sophisticated indoor and outdoor sports facilities available to refresh the minds of students. Cricket, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Throwball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Hockey and Athletics grounds are located in a mini stadium in the campus. Many students of GMIT have been transfigured as state and national champions in various sports and games. GMIT ensures all the possibilities for a student to get the best endeavors in overall development.

Internet & Wifi
The entire campus is WiFi enabled with a number of secured strategies where students can browse the internet anywhere on the campus for their academic preparations.

National Service Scheme (NSS)
Team NSS is actively conducting and organizing the events related to social welfare and making our students to understand the importance.

Cafeteria
To provide refreshments to the students during break timings of the academics, GMIT has a well-equipped place for both staff and students to blossom their mind in breeze air with tea, coffee, juice etc..

Cooperative Society
The GMIT Multipurpose cooperative society had been established in the year 2002-03. the motto of the society is to provide basic services to the students and staff of GMIT and its sister concern institutes in the campus on no loss no profit basis. The society is run according to the bye-laws of the co-operative society and all the students of the institute become members of the society by paying the share fee. The progress & service quality of the society is continuously monitored by conducting monthly and annual meetings. The student directors also take part in the meetings to improve the services continuously. The students are happy with the services offered as they are able to get the necessary things in their convenient time and at a reachable distance within the campus. The prices of the items sold are competitive and are genuine in quality. The services of society are extended beyond the working hours to make students convenient to buy their requirements.

Clinic
A special care has been provided to the students who are staying within the premise for 24×7.

Training & Placement

• Train the students to become aware of the importance of Training and Placement in the First year itself.
• To motivate the students in the regular intervals and induct the Ethics, Standards to be followed by professionals in his/her career through enlightening talks from Experts, renowned personalities, Heads of the communities and so on.
• To organize Training activities in year semesters in proper increments so that a student understands and gets a clarity of his/her career path.
• Different Stages of placement namely Aptitude Round, Technical Round, Group Discussion, Personal Round, HR Round etc will be made familiar through Expert Trainers in the area during the Pre-Final Year.
• The Final aim is to train all students and make them to become employable by the time they enter the Final Year.

The Training and Placement department continuously contacting the companies understanding their requirement and their willingness to organize campus recruitment of the students.
The Department modulates the students to the post recruitment activities also.
