Dr.Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswamy College of Polytechnic(Dr.SMCE) run and managed by Kammagondanahalli Sri Maruthi Seva Samithi (R) is an institution of academic excellence and has been established in the year 2008 with a cherished desire to serve the cause of humanity through education. The institution is located at Byranayakanahalli situated at a distance of 30 kms from Bangalore city, the IT capital of India and premier educational destination. The college campus is free from polluted environment.
It is accredited from AICTE and it is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. We offer 14 courses across 2 streams namely Engineering, Management and across 4 degrees like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Diploma.

Library & Information CentreThe Dr.SMCE Library located in the campus, is housed in area of 1000 Sq.Mts. The library is having a collection of 20,377 volumes that includes 1120 volumes under the Book Bank and about 950 volumes under SC/ST Book Bank. The collection includes reference works such as Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Hand Books and Standards.
The library subscribed the VTU e-resources mandated by AICTE, that is DELNET, (Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, & Information Science Engineering. ) These e-resource can be accesses across the campus 24/7.
The library has membership with reputed libraries in Bangalore, like CMTI, IISc, & IIMB LIbrary by which our students and faculty can avail the reference services offered by the above Libraries.
The seating capacity of the Library is 450 users at a time, which also includes three separate AC Reading Halls of a capacity of 250 users. The library is computerised with WEB – enabled open source software EasyLib. The on-line public access catlog can be accessed across the campus through OPAC which facilitates to search the books by author, title.

Digital Library
Dr.SMCE College of Polytechnic, has been acclaimed as one of the best equipped institutions for technical education w.r.t. the students especially from the practical learning point of view. The Dr.SMCE College of Engineering offers the finest laboratory facilities required for today’s young engineers for learning and application of skills. The College has made its best efforts to ensure that laboratories not only adhere to the VTU standards but also match up to the world-class laboratories of pioneering research. Several laboratories are assigned to each Department at Dr.SMCE College of Engineering to meet the needs of its branch of learning.

Medical Service
Health Centre is situated in our Dr.SMCE Campus. It has started functioning from 5th July 2008. Health centre have good doctor and their supporting staff are locked in this campus.

Auditoriums
A well furnished auditorium with AC which can accommodate more than 1000 students is centrally located on the campus. The auditorium is routinely used for guest lectures, technical seminars, pre-placement training and extra-curricular activities.

Separate Hostel for boys & girls

Girl’s hostel
The girl’s hostel has capacity for 300 students. Each student is provided with a cupboard, cot, table and chair as well as English & Kannada newspapers. The students are taken care by providing daily breakfast, lunch. Snacks &dinner T.V for their entertainment. Sweet dish and special dish are provided on Saturdays & Sundays. The hostel timings from 6:00AM to 8:30PM.There is a movement register for the inmates which is strictly followed .The hostel is guarded by 24 hrs by security guards. Solar water heaters and 24Hrs Power Supply (UPS or solar Power or Electrical Power)

Boys Hostel
The boys hostel has initial capacity for 500 students. The students taking admission in 1st year are encouraged to reside in hostel so that they are safe from ragging. Each student is provided with an cupboard, cot, table & chair as well as English & kannada newspapers. There is T.V. & sports (both indoor & outdoor games)for their entertainment. We provided daily breakfast lunch. Snacks &dinner, there is 24 hrs facility security guard.

Board Room
IA state-of-the-art well furnished boardroom is located in the Administrative block. Although, the boardroom is primarily used to host meetings with dignitaries, it is also used as a podium for presentations and interactions with invited speakers and our own Post-graduate students.

Canteen
The College has a Canteen inside the campus in which hygienic South Indian and North Indian dishes are available very good. The canteen remains open on all working days. A committee has take care for the facility provided by the canteen.

The Campus is well connected by trains & buses moving from Bangalore, Tumkur, Nelamangala And Dabbaspete Town. Free College bus facility between college & Byranayakahalli Railway Station

Training & Placement
Training and Placement Cell of Dr SMCE is established with a goal of not only securing placements for students but also to make them competent enough to face the corporate world. Training and Placement Department is headed by Ms. Sowmya R Raghavendra. We view it as a medium or way which provides vertical mobility to our students. The college has an exclusive Training & Placement centre to facilitate on- campus and off campus placement opportunities to the students.

Objectives
Maintaining good and professional interface with industries to facilitate training and placement of student’s as per the requirements of corporate companies.
To approach industries for partnership/MOU’s for workshops, seminars/guest lecturers/special programs and internship for students also will be offered.

Training and Placement coordinators
T & P coordinators will represent their respective departments in the T&P Cell and assist the T&PO during the training programs, recruitment drives, etc in the form of maintaining attendance, updating student’s data base, etc.
