K S Polytechnic started in the year 1992 with the blessing of elders at No. 5 Chennammana Kere Achhukattu, Bengaluru with only two branches – Electronics & Communication Engg and Computer Science Engg. In the year 1994 K S Polytechnic was shifted to the present premises at No. 14, with additional branches-Mechanical, Automobile and Civil Engg.

The main objective of K S Polytechnic is to provide value based technical education. The institution provides eminent, experienced and dedicated faculty, spacious lecture halls, drawing halls, well equipped laboratory facilities, a library with immense collection of books, reading room, canteen, playground etc., to serve the needs of students.

The majority of the students of K S Polytechnic speak about its reputation, presently it has more than 800 students studying in 5 different courses.

The team of faculty is lead by Prof. Hemadri Naidu T, Principal of K S Polytechnic who has done ME with distinction in the field of Machine Design. He is having 17 years of teaching experience. Prior to joining as a principal, he has worked as Associate Professor in KSIT for about 7 years. He also worked as a lecturer in K S Polytechnic for about 6 years. Presently he is pursuing Ph.D in the field of welding technology (TIG) for aerospace applications. Now he is striving the institute at administrative level from past 5 years.

He is also member of professional bodies like MISTE, MIE and MIWS. He has published 3 papers at national level conferences. And also attended national level seminars and workshops all over India. He had undergone trainings on E-commerce, CAD/CAM/CAE, financial accounts, auditing and management skills.

With his rich experience both in industry and teaching at different level he is guiding the polytechnic team to reach new heights year by year. The result of every year is the best evidence for the work being done by our team. The management of Kammavari Sangham is giving the necessary support and moral guidance.

• Library

The college has a very good library. This knowledge centre has approximately 2300 titles and more than 11,000 volumes of books. The library subscribes 25 technical journals which cater to the needs of the students and staff. The list of books & journals are constantly updated & expanded every academic year.

A spacious reference section is provided for students & staff. In the reference section a minimum of 50 students can sit at a time. Also a reading room is attached to the library in which all the leading newspapers, magazines and periodicals are available for both staff & students to enhance their general knowledge.

The library’s unique book bank scheme even enables students to borrow more number of books. The average daily circulation of books is about 125. The students & staff can access the library facilities at any time during the working days. The library is managed by well qualified, trained and experienced staff and it is fully automated library management systems.

• Laboratories & Workshops

Teaching and learning becomes interesting and absorbing when supported by practical classes. To achieve this end, we have well equipped and fully furnished laboratories, a work space as per the guidelines of technical board. The inspection committee of technical board has awarded ‘A’ grade to our labs and termed them as one of the best in Karnataka state.

• Hostel

Realizing the growing preference for K S Polytechnic by outstation students, K S Polytechnic has set up separate hostels for boys & girls. The hostel provides all basic facilities needed. The hostel provides a homely atmosphere and at the same time discipline is maintained.

• Transport

To help students coming from different parts of the city, K S Polytechnic provides its own fleet of high-tech buses at a nominal charge.
