Government Film And Television Polytechnic Institute, Bangalore (previously known as S J Polytechnic) known as the first government film institute in India started film related technical courses. The organization is located in Hesaraghatta which is about 35 km from the city. The campus sprawled around 25 acres approximately. Admissions to the various courses are inviting usually in the week of April or 1st week of May every year.

The hostel in the premises has ten rooms each to accommodate four students. The rooms are bright and airy with all facilities and round the clock security.
