Government Polytechnic, Bagalkot started functioning from the academic year 2008-2009. The institution has started with four departments namely Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Mechanical, at present students are offered admission to these departments through online interactive counseling system. Also, institution is providing lateral entry directly to the 3rd semester for the students coming from ITI background(Mechanical and Electronics). The institution is having highly qualified and dedicated lecturers. The institution is preparing students for the present day competitive world by providing perfect environment and facilities like laboratories, library, Wi-fi etc. Every year a considerable number of students are being placed in top companies as well as many are getting admissions in top colleges of the country for pursuing their higher studies.
