Government Polytechnic, Mundgod started by the Department of Technical Education (DTE) Karnataka, in the year 2009  at Mundgod town, Uttar Kannada district. It is one of the developing towns in Uttar Kannada(Karwar) district, surrounded by backward rural areas.

The northeast of the town is surrounded by forest. It is situated at an altitude of 564 mts, above the mean sea level. It is found on the Hubli-Sirsi state highway at a distance of 50 km from Sirsi, and 48 km from Hubli. It is at a distance of 137 km from the district headquarters (Karwar) and the shortest distance to the capital city Bangalore is 387 km.
The institution is equipped with all the necessary laboratories, computer center and library and sufficient well qualified & efficient teaching staff.

This polytechnic is established by the Government of Karnataka with a vision to provide technical education to the students of Mundgod taluk, Karwar district and nearby surrounded by rural areas.

Presently the polytechnic is situated at APMC Yard, Hubli Road, Mundgod.

Cell Portal
The cell provides an opportunity for each and every student of our college by storing the student information at the placement cell with relevant details. The database of the students registered for placements is maintained every year and furnished for respective companies to meet their specific manpower requirement. We also prepare students for “Pool Campus” for the benefit of our students. The “Pool Campus” interviews are arranged at varies nearby polytechnics for all the branches of our college. The placement cell provides training programs to improve the employability of the students.
