Government Polytechnic, Aurad started during the academic year: 2009 and 2010 vide Govt. order # ED191YOYOKA2008 dated 29-06-2009 by the Govt. of Karnataka with an intake of 60 students in each branch.
- The college is funded by the Department of Technical Education, Karnataka.
- Admission to the college will be Approved by the Department of Technical Education, Karnataka.
- Faculty: Government has sanctioned 30 posts of lecturers.

- Have a seminar hall where state and local level Seminars, Symposiums and Lectures are conducted. It is a well-equipped hall with good lighting and sound facility.
- Canteen caters to the needs of our students and staff members from morning to evening till the close of the college.
- The College has two auditoriums where functions like college day, talents day, and man such kinds of programs are held regularly.
- Computer lab
- Books are people’s best friends and the college exemplifies this. The college has spacious library housing over 26,578 books on varied topics. The library has as many as 13 titles of popular magazines and 08 daily newspapers. The library is extending full support to the academic activities of the college.
- The college has a playground big enough to conduct sports competitions and tournaments of cricket, volleyball, track events etc.
- The college has a multi-gym – MARUTHI VYAYAMA SHALA – which is open from morning 6 AM to evening 6 PM.
- The Trust has provided transport facilities to the students of APS Public School, APS College of Engineering and APS Polytechnic for daily picking up and dropping the students. All other institutions are also using the services of the transport whenever they are in need of the same, like going on an excursion, project work, etc. Well qualified drivers are handling the vehicles. All precautionary measures are taken for the safety of the students.

The passed out students of this college are working in various reputed Industries. Recently we have established PLACEMENT CELL. The coordinator for the placement cell is Mr. Mahesh Shegedar, lecturer in Mechanical Department. He having good contact with local area organization, company & other service units.
