It is affiliated to Department of Technical Education, Bangalore and approved by AICTE New Delhi. The institute started with four disciplines i.e. Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The college imparts high-quality technical education and also focuses on the overall development of the students, with an intake of 60 students per branch. College campus is spread over 9.8 acres of land near Guddada Channapura, Hangal main Road.

Sri Channakeshava Government Polytechnic Guddada Channapura, Bankapur is situated at Guddadachannapur about 2.5 Km away from Bankapur Bus Stand. It is well connected to Hubli and Haveri cities by open and wide roads. The intake quality of student is of very high merit. The students are also encouraged for sports, extracurricular and co-curricular activities with dedicated efforts of faculty; the students have exhibited their talent and excelled in academics, co-curricular as well placement activities.
